SAS Newsletter ? March 2008
Welcome to the first SAS newsletter. Firstly, thank you very much for taking the time to sign up to our newsletter. We have been overwhelmed with the amount of responses we have had to our new website over the past couple of weeks, and we look forward to keeping you up to date with events here at Special Auction Services.
Over the coming months there are a few interesting things taking place that we would like to make you aware of. With this first newsletter we are aiming to keep things fairly concise and informative. However, in the future we are hoping to get some more in-depth specialist articles written for you.
The March Jewellery, Watches, Coins and Silver auction has proven to be a really good success. The prices achieved were very high, especially for any gold items as the gold price is relatively high at the moment.
On the Friday the auction was well attended and was a hive of activity during the viewings. Along with some high prices achieved for the gold items, the watches, silver, and coins all did very well indeed. Thomas Plant was particularly pleased as only 14% of items were left unsold. He is busy collecting items for the June sale and is always happy to discuss offering items for you.
We are just putting the finishing touches to the Signed & Designed auction catalogue for the April sale. So far we have got a good mixture of glass, ceramics, furniture and works of art. We would specifically like to thank all our vendors for giving us the opportunity to offer such an eclectic range of interesting items.
The catalogue will be back from the printers at the start of April, so order your copy today.
In the next few days the Toys for the Collector auction catalogue will go online. We received the printed copies Friday last week and have already sent it out to our subscribers and vendors.
There are a few collections within the sale. These include the Schell collection of Diecast and toys, The Mike and Sue Richardson catalogue collection (part 3), the Joyce Archer collections of Dolls? house miniatures and the Mike Williams collection of Games. In total we have over 830 lots in the auction. The sections within the catalogue are: Mike and Sue Richardson collection (part 3) of Diecast and toy makers catalogues, Dinky, Corgi, Matchbox, Various Diecast, Figures, Collectables, Toys, 00 and H0 gauge, 0 gauge, Teddy Bears, Dolls, plus we have one 3 ? inch gauge tank locomotive for good measures.
Check the website for more details or give us a call to discuss your subscription.
We are pleased to announce that Thomas Plant will be holding a valuation day on Thursday 24th April here at Special Auction Services. You are welcome to bring along your items of jewellery, watches, coins and silver and have a cup of tea or coffee whilst Thomas provides you with information regarding your treasures. Places are limited so give us a call now on 0118 971 2949 to book your appointment now.
The July Toys for the Collector sale is looking like it will also be a really good auction. Nigel has been very busy cataloguing a number of properties that we are sure will be of interest to you. We will get some more details to you soon. This also applies to the Trains Galore auction for December 2008. We already have some wonderful items entered into the sale and we will post some preview items on the website in the coming weeks. For example we will be selling a rare M?rlkin ?Cock O The North? and the well known M?rlkin Krocodile.
Thank you once again for subscribing to the newsletter. If you have any questions or wish to receive more details on any of the above, then do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to writing to you again soon? Kindest regards, the SAS team
