Trains Galore 2009
We are absolutely delighted with the success of Trains Galore this year. This was the 24th annual toy and model train auction, and we are very much looking forward to the 25th Anniversary Trains Galore in 2010.
The evening ahead of Trains Galore we hosted a late viewing and reception, that was well attended. The mulled wine and canapes certainly went down well.
On the day the room was packed, with over 120 bidders. The stars of the show were:

One of our vendors commented in an email after the auction, "I just wanted to send you and your colleagues a quick email to thank all of you for all of your hard work and efforts in putting on an excellent event. Obviously I am delighted with what SAS was able to achieve in respect of the sale of my late Fathers Marklin Loco and Tender which was beyond my wildest expectations! I had not imagined achieving such a sum would be possible. A truly fantastic result, and one for which I am very grateful to you all for"
Hugo Marsh, Director, and Nigel Mynheer, Head of Toys and Trains, commented: ?Our ?Trains Galore? sale was the best sale we have held since 2006. It was even more packed and popular than ever, with absentee bidding from all corners of the world. M?rklin products proved more popular than ever, with Aster and Ace Trains showing the strength of more modern trains. As usual, the strong prices paid for Hornby 0 Gauge were the bedrock of the sale. We look forward to our next sale of fine trains on 24 April 2010 and the 25th ?Trains Galore? sale on 10 December 2010?.
We will be starting to put together lots for next year, and would be delighted if you would like to offer any model or toy trains...
Thanks and have a good Christmas. The SAS Team |
