The ITMA Royal Performance, 1942: an album for six 12-inch discs, sides 15-26, of the ITMA special performance for the birthday of H.R.H. Princess Elizabeth on April 21st 1942 at Windsor Castle, signed inside the front cover by Their Majesties and by T.R.H. Elizabeth and Margaret, the cover entitled WINDSOR CASTLE 21 APRIL 1942, the records all badly warped and all but one broken, with a letter from the BBC to Sydney Keith ('Sam Scram' in ITMA) pasted inside and later correspondence indicating that 24 such sets were made. A full account of the Windsor performance is given in Ted Kavanagh's biography of Tommy Handley (1949). The show lasted for two hours, and included contributions from Robb Wilton, Jack Warner, Very Lynn, Kenway & Young and Max Geldray, in addition to the ITMA session (extended to 40 minutes from the usual 30). This may account for the sides of the ITMA records starting at 15 (they are arranged non-sequentially, for use with an auto--changer or twin turntables.) As many of the broken records have sections missing, there is no prospect of restoring them.
Estimate: 300-500
