The team at Special Auction Services prides itsself as one of the only auction houses that can offer potential seller's a Fixed Commission Rate with No Hidden Fees. This one off charge is based on a percentage of the selling hammer price. No charges will be made for consignment, storage, cataloguing, insurance, or photography.

Here at Special Auction Services we offer free valuations every Wednesday at our premises in Greenham Business Park, Newbury. Thomas Plant leads these valuations but we guarantee a Specialist from every department will be available. Alternatively, you can email or telephone us to book an appointment with a specific specialist on any other day.

If you have not sold through an auction before it can seem quite a daunting experience, however here at Special Auction Services we can guide you through the sale of your items with the following 5 easy steps:

  • Step 1: Telephone or email an expert to discuss and have valued what you wish to sell.
  • Step 2: We can arrange collection of the items if you cannot get them to us.
  • Step 3: We do the hard work in cataloguing your item (like photographing, describing, finding buyers)
  • Step 4: You receive a list of your lots and a catalogue 2 weeks ahead of the auction
  • Step 5: You receive a cheque 3 weeks after the sale with your vendor’s settlement statement.

Special Auction Services produces a professionally colour printed catalogue which includes photographs of the majority of lots selling. All lots are pictured on our website and on our live auction site (the-saleroom.com) prior to each auction.
