‘Donald’, a large 1920s Schuco yes/no Teddy Bear with provenance, with golden mohair, clear and black glass eyes with brown backs, pronounced clipped muzzle, black stitched nose, mouth and claws, tail-operated head mechanism, jointed limbs, round and growler —21 ½in. (55cm.) high (hole in chest, arm and back, some wear, thinning and fading and pads missing); with a reprinted photograph of the original owner Donald Ricketts, aged around 2 years on 9th December 1925 - bought into the shop by the original owner in 1995 wishing that the bear would be cared for in his old age - see Some of our Favourite Bears by Ian Pout, page 17
