A 1st Edition of Now we Are Six by A.A. Milne signed by Ernest H. Shepard, 1927, published by Methuen & Co, dark red cloth with gilt lettering and vignette of Christopher Robin playing with locomotive on the cover, signed on title page by Ernest H. Shepard and dust jacket, inscribed on front inside flap of dust jacket ‘This is a 1st edition ask Uncle Rip to autograph’ (slightly bumped corners, tears to dust jacket) - purchased from Christie’s South Kensington, 18th March 1994, lot 148 with bill of sale
Provenance: This concerns the provenance for all three signed lots, 229, 236 and 237.
All three of these signed books were bought from Phillps in 1995.

We believe they all belonged to Olive Crosbie, because two have her name in the book, one is inscribed 'This is a 1st Edition Ask Uncle Rip to autograph it' - we are presuming Olive or a relative, was related to Shepard, who was Uncle Rip? And they asked him to sign the books, later in his life. See attached photo.
