A rare biography of Napoleon dating to of his exile to Elba in 1814 with interesting provenance, "THE LIFE OF NAPOLEON BONAPARTE, LATE EMPEROR OF THE FRENCH, King of Italy, Protector of the Confederation of the Rhine, &c. Giving a concise and impartial account of that Extraordinary Personage, from his birth in 1769, to his abdication of the Throne and subsequent retirement to the Island of Elba, in 1814. With a biographical sketch of the most celebrated Generals in the French Army" by H. Scott Esq. Published by Thomas Tait, London, 1814. Very Rare. 8vo. Original boards. Stipple engraved portrait frontispiece. Neat ownership inscription to half-title page "Colin Campbell Earl of A (?) Rosneath". Note:- Very rare. The Bodleian Library holds a single copy and World Cat Catalog identifies one other copy at McGill.
