After Alexander Sauerweid (1783-1844) "Bivouac of the Cossaks, at Champs-Elysées at Paris March 31st 1814", a hand-coloured aquatint by Jean Pierre Jazet (1788-1871). Published by Nepveu, Paris Circa 1814. In a 19th Century gilded frame. Measures:- 35 cm x 58.5 cm (sheet) 43 cm x 66.5 cm (Framed). Rare but see BM 1917,1208.1602 and Royal Collection RCIN 756090 for similar. Note:- The Cossack encampment on the Champs-Élysées attracted a great deal of fascination.
