Sir Edward Bear, a large 1920s Farnell teddy bear with mysterious provenance, with blonde mohair, clear and black glass eyes with brown painted backs, pronounced clipped muzzle, black stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, jointed limbs, card lined feet, inoperative growler and small hump, with inscribed bone section worn on ribbon around neck, 'To Sir Edward Bear the right o???r for boy from Elizabeth II November 1971' and Ted's Bank Key —23in. (58cm.) high (wool tuffs woven in to bald areas, balding to legs and ankles, pad replaced, pad split at seam to left arm, tiny split to upper left leg seam) - this bear was sold at Christies South Kensington 24th May 1999, photographed with the bone around his neck, but it was not explained in the catalogue, so will remain a mystery
