A very large Regency era engraved glass rummer commemorating 'Peace' and dated '1814', English, possibly Sunderland. Square 'lemon squeezer' foot with bowl above, wheel engraved in the round with a scene to one side of Britannia holding a laurel wreath, an angel with trumpet, the dove of peace and two figures looking at a ship titled "Stenter" with "Peace 1814" to the shore. The other side with a cartouche with engraved initials "JMC" with cornucopia to either side. 21.5 cm high. Provenance:- The Ron & Mary Thomas Collection.
