An 1814 Bristol Pottery "Peace of Paris" commemorative jug, pearlware pottery with polychrome painted transfer printing. Central image to belly of figures of peace and plenty, flanked by flags of Great Britain and her Allies, standing to either side of a stele inscribed "Peace of Europe Signed at Paris May 30, 1814". Distant view of port and shipping and the bottle kiln of a pottery. Marked 'Bristol Pottery' to lower right of decoration. Grape and vine vignettes to either side, floral frieze to neck. Brown line edging. 15.1 cm high. Exhibited:- See Sir John Soane's 2014 Catologue 2.11 (illustrated). A good example. Sound. Minor hairline to spout. Minor hailine/spider to side of base. Slight crazing etc within. Minor discolouration. Wear/nibbles to rim.
