The team at Special Auction Services prides its self as one of the only auction houses that can offer potential sellers a Fixed Commission Rate with No Hidden Fees. This one off charge is based on a percentage of the selling hammer price. No charges will be made for consignment, storage, cataloguing, insurance, or photography.

Here at Special Auction Services we offer free valuations Every Wednesday at our premises in Greenham Business Park, NEWBURY, Thomas Forrester leads these valuations and we try and have Specialists from our broad range of departments available for you.

Alternatively, you can email or telephone us to book an appointment with a specific specialist on any other day.

In addition to our Antiques & Colletables valuation days in Newbury, we hold several other valuation events for you to include:

SWINDON: Every second Monday of the month at Jury's Inn, Swindon

LONDON: Every third Monday of the month at J McCarthy Ltd, 11 Artillery Row, London, SW1P 1RH.

STAFFORDSHIRE: Every fourth Monday at Connolley & Co, 7 Maypole St, Wombourne, Wolverhampton WV5 9JB.

Our 5 steps:

Step 1:
Telephone or email an expert to discuss and have valued what you wish to sell.

Step 2:
We can arrange collection of the items if you cannot get them to us.

Step 3:
We do the hard work in cataloguing your item (like photographing, describing, finding buyers)

Step 4:
You receive a list of your lots and a catalogue 2 weeks ahead of the auction

Step 5:
You receive a cheque 3 weeks after the sale with your vendor’s settlement statement.

Our Valuation services

Following research and full cataloguing of every lot entered into our specialiat auction, items are offered for sale. Our friendly, helpful and experienced staff are always on hand to help with queries and concerns. We have a mailing list specific to each department which is constantly being updated to ensure private and trade buyers are aware of both the auction and the lots going under the hammer to achieve the best possible prices. Subject to items being paid for, all cheques are sent to vendors three weeks after the sale in which their lots were entered.
