Dedo Weigert (born 1938 in Breslau ) is a German cinematographer, film producer, and entrepreneur. He is the developer of the Dedolight lighting system.
Weigert was born the son of Hans Weigert, a university professor of art history, and Cornelie Weigert, née Obermeier, a painter. [ 1 ]
He lives and works primarily in Munich. [ 2 ] He is best known in the film industry for the lighting systems he developed, which bear his first name – Dedolight. He received a Technical Achievement Award for this lighting system in 1991; in the early 2000s, he introduced another lighting system, for which he received another Technical Achievement Award (Scientific and Engineering Award) [ 3 ] as well as an Emmy in 2003.
