A 19th Century Portuguese pressed horn snuff box celebrating marriage, the lid with symbols of conjoined hearts etc with the motto "Himineo junta as mãos eo fogo acende nos amentes coração que une e prende Bela Uniao" ("Hymen [the god of weddings] joins his hands together and sets light to the thoughts of the heart, uniting and binding a Beautiful Union"). 5.6 cm diameter. Good condition.
