Albert, a large 1910s German teddy bear, with blonde mohair, black boot button eyes, slotted in ears, black stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, hump and elongated joint limbs --29in. (73.5cm.) high (worn, pads in need of attention) - This bear was the childhood toy of Irene, and was presented to her at birth gift by the wealthy family of solicitors for whom the current vendors grandfather worked as a 'live in', chauffeur and gardener from the late 1800s through early 1900s; they had offices in the borough of Bromley where they also had their family home. It was just off Westmoreland Road, and it is believed Albert was originally part of the nursery toys belonging to the children of the solicitors, the house no longer stands but the solicitors may still be in existence; Irene loved and cherished Albert until she sadly died at the age of 100.
