Two early 20th century teddy bears from Buxton, the larger, probably American with blonde mohair, black boot button eyes, pronounced muzzle, black stitched nose mouth and claws, cupped ears, swivel head, elongated limbs, inoperative growler and small hump —19 ½in. (49.5cm.) high (thinning and bald areas, hand pads recovered, right foot pad with holes left, stitched repair) and a smaller German blonde mohair teddy bear with clear glass eyes, swivel head and jointed limbs with felt pads (hand and foots pads with holes) - these bears were the childhood toys of the vet's wife in Buxton and bought directly from her and have always been together
