An early Steiff teddy bear, circa 1910 from the Growlies of Scotland collection and star of STV’s Taggart, with golden mohair, black boot button eyes, pronounced clipped muzzle, black stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, jointed elongated limbs with replacement felt pads, hump, inoperative growler and FF underscore button —24in. (61cm.) high (thinning and bald areas, nose darned, right side of mouth missing, left ear split on seam and restitched) - this bear appeared in a 1988 episode of STV studio’s detective series Taggart starring Mark McManus and was part of a scene where a young man is clutching this bear and Taggart says ‘I’d give any money for a bear like that!’ and comes with a press black and white photograph from the scene, a colour photograph of McManus with this bear and a few press clippings
